Kubica speaks out on Williams exit stories
Robert Kubica is refusing to rule out the possibility of potentially moving teams ahead of the 2020 Formula 1 season, as he responds to recent comments made by his main sponsor, who claimed he could leave Williams after this campaign.
The Pole, after eight years away from the sport, completed his miraculous return to action after recovering from a career-threatening crash which cost him part of his forearm, as he was chosen to partner George Russell for 2019.
However, the gamble hasn’t paid off for neither team nor driver, yet, as he is last in the driver rankings, and is regularly slowest in qualifying and dead last in races.
Kubica’s sponsor, PKN Orlen, said this week that “everything was on the table” with regards to a potential move away from Williams.
The 34-year-old has now added to the speculation he could leave.
“What will happen to me next year does not depend only on me,” Kubica said.

“We will see what opportunities appear and what I want to do. I do not see any question marks, but there may be some compromises if it is not possible to bring the expected performance.
“I am not saying that this is the case now, but this situation may happen.”
Kubica does claim, however, that it is too early in the season to be making predictions about his future.
“At this point, I’m not focused on the future,” he added.
“I have lived my life, some things I’ve done better, some things worse, but it’s not like I’m not going to go on.
“It’s too early in the season to say more except that not everything depends on me.”
