Daniel Ricciardo discusses bromance with team-mate Max Verstappen

Daniel Ricciardo has been discussing his relationship with team-mate at Red Bull Max Verstappen, saying that the pair have a fantastic rapport away from the track and that he would find it difficult to get on as well with any other driver on the grid.

The pair have had some testing moments in the 2018 season, not least in Baku when Verstappen crashed into Ricciardo late in the race, costing both men a position in the points.

While the pressure was on Dutchman at that point he has since bounced back, winning in Austria, and Ricciardo was quick to add that their relationship is stronger than ever, given the amount of time that they spend together.

Speaking to Formula 1 magazine, he said: "Max and I do a lot outside the job together, and I couldn't get along as well with anyone else. Red Bull organises a lot of silly things for us to do, where we have a lot of fun. And why not?"

Max has progressed quickly in Formula 1, amassing a huge following in the Netherlands along the way, and Ricciardo was quick to add that he has remained humble even in the face of intense scrutiny.

He added: "Look, within this sport it's easy to be swallowed up completely. But he stays level-headed and has managed to keep his feet on the ground."
