Rosberg infuriated by Ferrari - Even Formula 3 teams do a better job

Former F1 champion Nico Rosberg has claimed that 'even Formula 3 teams could do a better job' than Ferrari after another horror show during the Dutch Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc finished third after starting second at Zandvoort but it was with Carlos Sainz the Scuderia endured a race to forget.

Sainz had lined up third on the grid but struggled for pace on soft tyres in the opening exchanges.

At his first stop under normal green-flag conditions, however, Ferrari appeared to be caught out by the Spaniard, with mechanics racing from the garage as he approached his pit box.

Such was the rush that only three wheels were ready and he was stationary for 12.7secs.

Reflecting on the latest disaster, speaking to Sky Sports F1, Rosberg said: "Oh my goodness, and Mattia Binotto keeps saying 'No, we don't need to make any changes. Everything is going well'.

"I mean, when is the day coming? It's not possible. Even Formula 2 or Formula 3 teams do a better job at their strategy and pit stops than Ferrari.

"You go into the pit and there are no tyres there in a normal race? At some point, they really need to start making some changes."

Sainz's race went from bad to worse when he was later handed a five-second penalty for an unsafe release at a subsequent stop, although both team and driver were left stunned by this decision.

"Beyond that, their car is just a little bit off the pace now and in the races especially," added Rosberg

"We saw it at Spa and we saw it again here, so they are starting to lose out.

"They need to make sure they keep developing the car as well in the right direction."
