Albon discharged from hospital after British Grand Prix smash
Albon was taken to hospital for precautionary checks after his start-line crash
Alex Albon has been given the all-clear after being taken to hospital for precautionary checks following his horrific start-line crash.
The start of the British Grand Prix saw two separate heavy crashes. While the one involving Zhou Guanyu caused the most immediate concern, Albon was transported via helicopter to Coventry Hospital.
The Williams driver was approaching the first corner when, as a result of Zhou's heavy crash, the field slowed. Sebastian Vettel was caught out and slammed into the back of Albon's car, pitching the Thai-British driver into the pit wall.
As Albon spun back across the track, he was collected by a number of other drivers.
But after the checks were completed, Williams said: "We are pleased to confirm that Alex has been given the all-clear and has been discharged from Coventry Hospital. Thank you to everyone for your well wishes."

In a statement of his own, Albon added: "All ok, the pets are ok, but more importantly, I’m glad Zhou is ok!
"Thank you to the medical staff and for all the messages. Eyes already on Austria."

Albon now already has his sights set on next weekend's race in Austria.
He added: "I’m very glad that everyone else involved in the first lap incident is okay.
"Thank you to all the medical staff at the track and Coventry Hospital. It’s a shame our race ended before it began today, but we are already fully focused on Austria.
"Bring on the next one!"
