Zhou 'hurt' by F1 points misses
Guanyu Zhou has conceded to feeling 'hurt' after missing out on a point by just one position for the second F1 weekend in succession.
Zhou took home a single point from his debut weekend with Alfa Romeo in Bahrain but has failed to add to this score in the two races that have followed.
The Chinese driver had climbed the order After starting 14th on the medium tyre in Australia but was caught out by an unfortunately timed safety car just one lap after he had visited the pits.
This allowed his rivals a cheap stop and pushed him to the back of the pack.
“It was quite a tough one to be honest because firstly, I think we lost a little bit too much in the pit stop which wasn’t ideal and put us in a difficult position for the end of the race," said Zhou.
“But nevertheless, we had a very strong pace towards the end but the guys who didn’t pit were quite lucky with the safety car.
“Again, I missed by one position so it hurts but the first three races have been passed away now and the worst position was P11 so I’ll take that but there is much more potential."
Confident his early form will yield results at forthcoming events, Zhou added: “I just can’t wait to get it all out together with a bit of luck and we will be there.”
