Ferrari F1-75 'aggressive, radical and beautiful'
Carlos Sainz has hailed the all-new Ferrari F1-75 as 'aggressive, radical and beautiful' after the team launched its 2022 challenger on Thursday.
Ferrari became the seventh team to reveal its latest F1 offering in an online ceremony featuring team principal Mattia Binotto and drivers Sainz and Charles Leclerc.
Reacting to the F1-75 which features a throwback livery to the 80s and 90s with its deep red and black paintwork, Sainz said: “I think it looks aggressive, it looks radical and it looks beautiful also and I just hope it’s fast.
Referencing the new, larger tyres for the coming season, Sainz added: “We used them last year on last year’s car and it already felt like a step in the right direction. It should give us the possibility to push a bit more in the races, challenge a bit more the cars in front, [have] a bit more racing.
“The only question mark remains the visibility. It looks big, it looks like this might cover a bit and on street circuits, it might be a bit difficult”
Standing next to his team-mate, Leclerc gave a similar reaction to his first sight of the car and said: “I love it.
"I really, really like it. I think I will love it even more if it is fast on track but I absolutely love the look.”
Studying the bodywork of the F1-75, Leclerc added: "I think this is my favourite part of the car itself. You can really see how much work there has been for this bodywork so it looks impressive, it looks extreme and I like this.
"It looks huge and no pylons which is strange because we have been using the past years to use them so it is quite a different one.”
