Outgoing Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas helped the team win a record-extending eighth consecutive world constructors' championship title this year, the fifth in which he has played a key role.

The Finn moves onto pastures new with Alfa Romeo next season having won 10 times, taken 20 pole positions and amassed 47 podiums in his career with the Silver Arrows.

Yet despite the championship successes he has experienced, Bottas has suggested his time with Mercedes was a "failure" when speaking to the New York Times.
