Raikkonen 'would do anything' to avoid F1 media duties
The Finn will become the most experienced driver in the history of the sport in 2020
In the 2020 F1 season, Kimi Raikkonen will break Rubens Barrichello’s record for most entries in a race within the sport, making him the most experienced driver in history, and although he still retains a love for driving - he still doesn’t enjoy talking to the press!
The 40-year-old took a hiatus from F1 between 2009 and 2012, but returned to Lotus, Ferrari, and then Alfa Romeo to continue to tally up his entries.
He currently has 315 entries compared to the 326 of Barrichello, meaning he will break that record barring injury.
As always, Raikkonen was defiant when asked about what he likes and dislikes about the sport in 2020, and insists he won’t be affected by anyone who doesn’t like how he goes about his business.
“I like racing, although there is much more than racing in F1,” he told El Pais

“If I didn’t enjoy the races, I wouldn’t be here. But I would do anything not to go out to the press!”
“Obviously, it makes me happy that there are followers who like me, there are also those who don’t like me. But I just try to do the things that make me happy.
“As long as you do things that make you happy as a person that is all that matters.
“If you are happy that will help you in your work, be it driving a car or any other, it will help you in your daily life.
“If people like it, great; if they don’t like it, well that’s fine too. Each one is as it is.
“Besides, I never do anything to please anyone. I do what I do thinking about me.”
Raikkonen is a two-time world champion in F1, but lost his place with Ferrari after the conclusion of the 2018 season after the Scuderia opted to promote Charles Leclerc.
