McLaren insist that suggestions of the team splitting from Fernando Alonso are wide of the mark.
Reports emerging from Motorsport Magazine suggested that the double world champion had "parted ways" from McLaren on the back of his embarrassing failure to qualify for the Indianapolis 500.
Alonso has sought victory at the Brickyard to secure the 'Triple Crown' - with Monaco Grand Prix and Le Mans 24 Hours wins already under his belt.
McLaren have confirmed that Alonso currently holds no racing plans with the team, amid suggestions he could partner with Toyota for an upcoming tilt at the Dakar Rally.
However, the Spaniard remains a McLaren ambassador.
AP quote a McLaren statement: "Nothing whatsoever has changed in the relationship.
"McLaren and Fernando have a continuing and contractual relationship and Fernando remains a McLaren Ambassador. No decision has been taken by McLaren or Fernando on returning to the Indy 500 at this time."
Alonso's response was somewhat more cutting...
