Kubica wants to use sole career pole as motivation for Bahrain
He has plenty of experience on the track.
Robert Kubica is hoping to channel the good memories of the 2008 Bahrain Grand Prix in which he earned his first and only career pole position to kick off his 2019 season with Williams when he takes to the same track again this weekend.
The 34-year-old successfully made his return to the sport in Australia two weeks ago after recovering from a career-threatening injury suffered in 2011, even if he and team-mate George Russell were largely uncompetitive in the GP in Melbourne.

When he was with BMW Sauber over a decade ago, he claimed pole in Bahrain, and wants to use this as motivation in his performance on Saturday and Sunday.
"I have good memories of Bahrain as I got my first and only pole position there in 2008 so I am looking forward to it,” Kubica said.
“It can get very hot, so tyres will be an important topic to understand and how to best cope with them so let’s see how we go."

Kubica admits that the Bahrain International Circuit is a tough track, but is hoping his experience can see him through.
"Bahrain is a very different track to Australia, so we will face new challenges, including the increased temperature and track layout," the Williams man continued.
"There are a few things to discover but I know the track pretty well. There is a lot of stop and go so the car has to be very stable under braking and have good traction."
Kubica finished 17th in the opening GP of the season in Australia.
