Formula E not in Alonso's plans

Fernando Alonso has played down speculation linking him with a move to Formula E when he finishes the current stint of his Formula 1 career, saying that although it is an interesting prospect, driving in the all-electric motorsport is not in his current plans.

Earlier this week both Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag and former F1 driver Felipe Massa both suggested that Alonso could make the move, but the Spaniard has disappointed fans of the sport by admitted it is not on his radar for the moment.

"All the categories are interesting," the McLaren man told AS.

"I watch them all on television, I'm passionate about racing. But right now it is not within the plans."

It is Alonso's intention to continue his pursuit of the motorsport 'Triple Crown' which includes victories at the Monaco Grand Prix, Le Mans 24 Hours, and the Indianapolis 500, and with the first two already achieved, it is only the Indy 500 which remains.

The two-time F1 champion says it is his intention to spread his time between two championships.

"Right now I have two things in the air, but nothing has changed for the past two weeks." he continued.

"Two championships have interested me so I will see how I can combine them. I also need life outside of F1, so I'll examine everything and then take a final decision."

Alonso has been performing in F1 for 17 years, but is set to depart the sport after another disappointing season with McLaren.
