Vettel confident ahead of triple-header
Sebastian Vettel believes that Ferrari's promising start to the new campaign, in which they have won three out of the first seven races, means that they can head into the F1 weekend triple-header of the French, Austrian, and British Grand Prix races with confidence.
The German narrowly leads the driver rankings as he is currently just one point ahead of Lewis Hamilton in second, but Mercedes are yet to utilise their second power unit of the season - something which Ferrari has already done.
The Scuderia have went about their business impressively so far even though they trail Mercedes in the constructor rankings, and Vettel has revealed the team is full of confidence heading into F1's first ever triple-header of a race on three consecutive weekends.
"A lot of races coming in the next couple of weeks but generally it's positive," said Vettel when previewing the French GP on Friday.
"If you look back and look at the big picture, we've had seven races and we've won three of them. So it's not bad.

"The fact we have been competitive in most of them makes us quite confident for the next races. In some races you find yourself being more competitive than others, probably [for Ferrari] you can pick Canada versus Spain. Spain was probably our least-competitive race.
"It's normal to have ups and to have downs but we're working hard to have more ups than downs. It's wise to go step-by-step."
However, Vettel admitted that although the team is confident, the fact the team has not raced at the Circuit Paul Ricard in 28 years means they are not sure what to expect.
"All those [questions] have been answered after the race in Barcelona and the test. I don't think it makes a difference, it's the same for all of us," the four-time F1 champion continued.
"It's a lot more difficult here to know what to expect because we've never been here properly. Same with all the teams at the same time on the same track layout - because there's quite a lot here! - so we will see how we get going."
