Indycar and NASCAR interest Norris
Lando Norris has expressed his desire to experience other race series during his career, although his number one priority remains Formula 1.
The McLaren driver has been involved in official sim races for other series including Indycar and Supercars during the absence of racing. Recently he was also on the entry list for the Virtual Le Mans 24 Hours, where he will race alongside Max Verstappen.
"I love F1, it's where my heart's at and it's everything that I'm working on, and that has priority over every single thing that I do." Norris told Sky Sports F1's Instagram Live.
"If I ever get the opportunity to go and do Indycar or NASCAR or GT's or anything, any chance I've had to go and do something I've really enjoyed it.
"It's busy especially with F1 nowadays with how many races we have a year, and preseason and postseason there is not a lot of time we actually get to do a lot of other things.
"I enjoy driving everything else but F1 is my goal and priority."
McLaren CEO Zak Brown has floated the idea that Norris and new-for-2021 recruit Daniel Ricciardo could form a wildcard partnership at the Bathurst 1000 with Walkinshaw Andretti United - a team Brown is part-owner of.
Norris added: "I would love to do Bathurst, I've been driving that car [Supercar] a few times now, never in real life but on the simulator. It is very different to F1, like the complete opposite.
"It's super fun to drive, I think Bathurst is one of the tracks that everyone would love to drive at one point in their career.
"I would love to go, especially with Danny Ric. It would be pretty cool, or even with Zak [Brown] maybe, but it depends how it fits into the schedule."
