Lewis Hamilton's sixth F1 world title in pictures

Lewis Hamilton is a six-time world champion after a second-place finish at the United States Grand Prix.

A third straight success has been on the cards for some time and puts Hamilton into outright second behind Michael Schumacher in F1's all-time title list.

With 10 wins from 19 races, there have been mostly ups, but a few downs for good measure, thrown in.

Here's how his 2019 panned out in pictures...

Lewis started the season with a second place finish to the rejuvenated Valtteri Bottas.
But it was success in Bahrain, thanks to Charles Leclerc's engine failure.
Another win followed in China as Mercedes dominated the early weeks of the campaign.
But Bottas fought back again in Baku to suggest he was in the fight for the long haul.
But Lewis won in Spain, retaking the lead of the championship and keeping it for the rest of the year.
