Pirelli have shared footage of a Formula 1 car, driven by Renault's Sergey Sirotkin, testing the 18-inch tyres that will debut in the sport from 2021.

The new wheels form a key part of Liberty Media's revamp of the regulations aimed to make racing closer from 2021 and beyond.

Sirotkin and Renault are testing the tyres at Circuit Paul RIcard as Pirelli begins to gather data ahead of the switch for 2021.

Pirelli has also been testing the new tyres on Formula 2 cars, with a switch planned for next year in the feeder series in order to ensure the debut in F1 goes as smoothly as possible.
