Hamilton happy with cancelled Baku practice

Lewis Hamilton has arrived at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix with a sole focus, with absolutely nothing standing between him and… catching up with Game of Thrones. The reigning champion was therefore delighted to see FP1 cancelled, allowing him more time to get up to speed with the series.

FP1 lasted just a few minutes before George Russell ran over a manhole cover, obliterating the underside of his Williams and causing the session to be cancelled.

It is unclear if FP2 will start on time, as the FIA will have to now check every manhole cover over the circuit – according to Renault there are over 300!

Fans were disappointed to be robbed of on-track action, while teams were also affected as their programmes had vital time taken away.

But one man seemed pretty happy with his on-track duties being cancelled for the morning, Hamilton suddenly being able to fit an extra episode or two in!
