Chinese Grand Prix: Weather Forecast

The Chinese Grand Prix has seen some wet and wild races in the past, although it appears likely that the 2019 edition will pass without too many interventions from the skies. With little rain forecast for the weekend, it seems teams can plan their strategies in comparative peace.

Weather interrupted the 2017 significantly, with Friday practice almost entirely wiped out, while the events in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2014 all saw rain arrive.

The first of those infamously saw Lewis Hamilton slide onto gravel at the pitlane entrance during a race which could have seen him crowned champion in his rookie year, ultimately opening the door for Kimi Raikkonen to take the title.

Hamilton was victorious in the 999th World Championship race, although Mercedes expect to see Ferrari run strongly again in Shanghai, having been second-best in terms of pace to the red cars in Bahrain.

If the Silver Arrows are hoping for some mixed conditions in order to slow down the speedy SF90, it appears they won't get their wish.
