Audi deal "super-appealing" to Aston Martin
Aston Martin team principal Mike Krack has claimed a partnership with Audi would be "super-appealing" with the German manufacturer looking to join the F1 grid.
Earlier this month, the Volkswagen Group confirmed plans for a possible entry into F1 with two of its brands, Audi and Porsche.
Whilst Porsche is strongly believed to be preparing to partner Red Bull, the future is less certain for Audi despite being previously linked with McLaren and Sauber.
Aston Martin currently races under Mercedes power but asked if switching to the rival marque would be of interest, Krack explained: "For any team who has not got a manufacturer on his side, it is super appealing to have this possibility.
"So we would be lying if we said we were not interested in something like that, so I would be very interested to talk."
Steiner - Who would not speak to Audi?
With F1 now operating under a cost cap, partnering with a manufacturer such as Audi would potentially allow a midfield or backmarker team to operate at the highest level.
Confirming Williams would also be interested to talk with Audi, team principal Jost Capito said: "I don't think they have decided they will go, I think they have decided that they can continue to look into it and this is a different outcome."
Commenting on the position of Haas that has close links to Ferrari, team principal Guenther Steiner said: "Obviously, as Mike said, who would not speak to them?
"But we have not had any talks."
