Race of Champions - Team Norway win Nations Cup after dramatic final
Team Norway has won the Race of Champion Nations Cup after defeating Team USA in the final.
The duo of World Rally Championship legend Petter Solberg and son Oliver beat the unlikely finalists of Jimmie Johnson and Colton Herta in dramatic fashion.
NASCAR legend Johnson suffered a mechanical fault in the first heat of the final and after the Norwegian pairing stretched to a two-one lead out of five races, IndyCar star Herta drifted wide into a snowbank to seal the deal.
It is the first time Team Norway have won the ROC Nations Cup.
Team Finland had made the semi-final with Mika Hakkinen and Emma Kimiläinen despite the last-minute withdrawal of Alfa Romeo F1 driver Valtteri Bottas, although ultimately lost out to Johnson and Herta.
David Coulthard and Jamie Chadwick were knocked out for Team Great Britain in the quarter-finals, as were Team Germany despite Mick Schumacher's perfect winning record.
Sebastian Vettel had struggled in his races, losing three of his four runs, including in the preliminary round against eROC All-Star and Aston Martin Esports star Lucas Blakeley.
The Solberg family has done it!@OliverSolberg01 and @Petter_Solberg are going to the Nations Cup final for Norway! And even Oliver's celebration is the same as his dad's 🥺🥺🥺
