Ferrari has 'best driver line-up' in F1 - Binotto
Mattia Binotto has stated his belief that Ferrari possesses the best driver pairing in F1.
Ferrari has bounced back from a tough 2020 season - its worst since 1980 - with a string of strong performances to tie McLaren on points for third in the constructors' standings into the summer shutdown.
Carlos Sainz has stood on the podium on two occasions and Charles Leclerc once in addition to the Monegasque's two pole positions in Monaco and Baku.
Asked how happy he was with his drivers after at the end of the first half of the season, team principal Binotto said: "I'm very happy, for many reasons.
"First, because I think we have the best line-up of the entire pit lane.
"Second because we know Charles is a fantastic driver who is still continuing to improve. I'm pretty happy with that.
"He's had great opportunities as well for a win, the first was in Monaco, and for reasons we know it didn't happen.
"On the other side, Carlos is integrating very well, is improving race by race, and a great benchmark for Charles as well, pushing him when conditions are more difficult.
"With 80 points each [after Sebastian Vettel's disqualification in Hungary, Sainz now has 83] shows how important it is to have two good drivers scoring points for the constructors', so I'm very happy with that.
"Looking forward, I'm pretty sure these two guys will give us great satisfaction."
