Hungary, crash

Max Verstappen has been severely affected by a multiple car collision at the start of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Verstappen made his way up to second into the first corner at a damp Hungaroring but was collected by McLaren's Lando Norris, who himself had been hit from behind by Valtteri Bottas who had made a slow getaway from second on the grid.

The Dutchman has sustained significant damage to his bargeboard and floor and pitted for repairs ahead of the subsequent red flag period and will restart 13th.

Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez was also involved and has retired from the race along with Bottas, Norris, Aston Martin's Lance Stroll and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

The red flags were soon brought out due to the amount of debris left on the circuit.

Lewis Hamilton leads, with Esteban Ocon, Sebastian Vettel, Carlos Sainz and Yuki Tsunoda rounding out the top five.
