Ferrari president Elkann vows "we will win more races"
Ferrari celebrate it's 1000th Grand Prix at Mugello
Ferrari president John Elkann has vowed the most successful team in Formula 1 history "will win more races" as it celebrates it's 1000th Grand Prix.
From 999 grands prix to date, Ferrari has 237 race victories, 228 pole positions, 16 constructors' titles and 15 drivers' titles.
Although far from its dominant best in 2020, Ferrari sits comfortably above the rest in terms of historical success, and at a special 1000th Grand Prix celebration in Florence, Elkann vowed the good times will return to Maranello.
"Without a doubt the support the Scuderia gets from fans all around the world is truly special," said Elkann. "Of course, now they are disappointed, and they let us know it.
"But it is them we think of first when we go racing, because, as our founder said, Ferrari is made first and foremost of this, of its people, and the fans are an integral part of the team.
"This has been a difficult season so far, but I know that we have the right people, in terms of skills, competence and passion that will allow us to win again. I am absolutely certain of one thing, that in the next one thousand Grands Prix we will win more races than we have to date.”
Due to social distancing restrictions, the celebration took place with 'invited guests' only, including Ferrari CEO Louis Camilleri, FIA president Jean Todt, F1 CEO Chase Carey, F1 managing director motorsport Ross Brawn and several former drivers and high profile members of team personnel.

Looking to the future and acknowledging Ferrari's recent signing of the new F1 Concorde Agreement, Elkann added: “As we celebrate our first thousand races, we are already looking ahead, already thinking about the next thousand.
"We are proud to be part of this new Formula 1, a decision confirmed a few days ago thanks to the signing of the Concorde Agreement, because we believe in the will of those who manage our sport and want to make it bigger and more spectacular, while preserving its DNA.”
