Norris arranges a special delivery for six-year-old helmet designer Eva

Lando Norris has thanked six-year-old Eva Muttram for designing his special British Grand Prix helmet by arranging a special delivery.

Many drivers run special one-off helmet liveries for their home grand prix, and Norris continued this trend at the 2020 British Grand Prix.

However, while most drivers select entries from graphic designers or designs that so closely resemble their current look that it is impossible to tell the difference, Norris bucked the trend by selecting and entry from six-year-old fan Eva Muttram.

In a social media post on Thursday, Norris shared a video message he had sent his young fan, a message that arrived with a gift.

Norris said: "Hi Eva, its Lando here. If you're looking at this video, you would have received a delivery and inside the delivery is a little gift from me to you to say thank you so much for your helmet, for your design, for such a cool design.

"So many people loved it. It was incredible, better than I ever imagined, and it is very special to me."

Demonstrating how special the helmet is to him, Norris showed Eva the lid sitting in pride of place alongside his 2018 Valentino Rossi inspired helmet.

After Norris repeated his thanks, he instructed Eva to open the parcel in front of her.

Although predictable to anyone watching, the "Bell" parcel contained a second helmet, complete with Eva's design.

In a time when Formula 1 is embroiled in a political battle over the technicalities of the sport, the story of Norris' British Grand prix helmet has been a welcome 'nice' good news story for Formula 1.
