Williams expecting better results from Spain onwards
George Russell says Williams can “definitely” put their woeful start to the 2019 Formula 1 season behind them after the Spanish Grand Prix this weekend.
Even before the new campaign started, Williams suffered the embarrassment of having their two drivers, Russell and Robert Kubica, arrive for pre-season testing in Barcelona with no car after its arrival was delayed.

The subsequent races haven’t been much better, with the pair only not finishing in the two last places in every GP thanks to other drivers retiring.
However, Russell thinks better days are on the horizon for the British outfit.
“It’s definitely going to get easier from now on in and I have confidence that we are going to make progress,” he told Autosport.
“The team is working extremely hard and we have some quite exciting things in the pipeline.
“How close that will bring us to the rest of the pack I don’t know but these [difficult] weekends are making us stronger.
“I do believe at some point we’ll be able to turn it around.”
Russell revealed that there are planned upgrades on the cars for Barcelona, and the result gained after the improvements will be an indicator of how their season can pan out.
“It will give us a clear direction of where we need to focus.
“And based on those results it will help us understand if we’ve got any hope for the remainder of the season or not.”
