Todt officially re-elected as FIA President
Jean Todt has officially been re-elected as the president of the FIA for a third and final term after confirmation of the winning vote was announced at the annual General Assembly in Paris, with the Frenchman receiving no opposing candidates for the role.
Todt is previously a manager in Formula One and enjoyed great success with Ferrari between 1994 and 2007 before being elected in as FIA president in 2009.
If any potential candidate wished to announce their intention to run for president, they had to do so before the deadline in November and with exactly zero candidates doing so, it was a foregone conclusion that Todt would be re-elected.
This will be, however, his final term as presidents cannot serve for more than three.
He is grateful for the support for his continued presidency.
"It is gratifying to have such universal support," he said.

"I would like to thank all of the member clubs of the FIA for their support."
"I see this as a validation of the direction the FIA has taken under my leadership, and as encouragement to continue the programme we have pursued over the past eight years."
Todt went on to discuss some of the challenges that come with the role, but reminded fans and indeed any presidents of the future the morals and ethics which needed to be followed in this position.
"From time to time there are some who challenge this role," he continued.
"And I remind them that motorsport will always need a regulator, it will always need fair play, it will always require ethics, and it will always need an independent referee.
"This is the vital role the FIA plays and one it will continue to play in the future."
