F1 Qualifying Results: 2026 Spanish Grand Prix positions and times at Madring

Qualifying for the 2026 F1 Spanish Grand Prix takes place at the brand new Madring today (Saturday September 12) and we have full results for you.

Grid positions will be all-important on a 5.416km circuit where overtaking opportunities come at an absolute premium.

This afternoon's 60-minute session will tell us who has the blistering one-lap speed to head into Sunday confident of challenging for podium spots.

Mercedes pair Kimi Antonelli and George Russell head the championship standings but expect them to face strong challenges at a track where raw power is not the most important thing.

How to watch Spanish Grand Prix Qualifying live

Sky Sports will broadcast the session live in the UK with Channel 4 having a highlights package later in the day.

Apple TV have the call in the US (a free trial is available to new viewers) while in Spain fans can watch free of charge on Mediaset.

Changes to F1 Qualifying in 2026

There are a couple of changes to the way qualifying works this year, not quite as sweeping as the new technical regulations.

Firstly we now have 22 cars on the grid, so instead of five cars exiting after Q1 and Q2, we will have six being eliminated. That still leaves 10 for the pole shootout in Q3.

The other notable change lies in the timings - Q3 now gets an extra minute and lasts for 13 rather than 12.
