Ricciardo launches wine range - but 'not for shoeys'

Ricciardo's 'shoey' celebration is popular with F1 fans

McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo has launched his own wine range but the Australian has confirmed he will not be sampling the produce from a shoe.

Ricciardo has teamed up with Australian winery St Hugo to create a limited run of 'DR3' branded bottles of red wine.

In an entertaining promotional video, Ricciardo said: "I don't get involved with people or projects that I don't believe in. That's why myself and the iconic Australian winery St Hugo have created something that I truly do believe in - DR3."

Unfortunately, for international Ricciardo fans, the wine is currently only available to purchase in Australia, although a waitlist has been created for those eager to get a taste around the world.

The winery has launched both a cabernet sauvignon and shiraz, with each bottle of the limited-run numbered.

In a tweet announcing the partnership, Ricciardo commented he will "definitely NOT be using this for a shoey."
