"I love back-to-backs!" - Hamilton relishing the congested F1 calendar
Lewis Hamilton proclaimed his love of back-to-back races after a dominant victory in the Styrian Grand Prix for Mercedes.
Hamilton took the chequered flag in comfortable fashion from team-mate Valtteri Bottas, and looked to be in a class of his own throughout the 71-lap race at the Red Bull Ring.
Speaking to Sky Sports F1, Hamilton said: "Firstly, I have to say a big thank you to my team and everyone back at the factory.
"What a weird year it is, but it's great to be back up here and to be driving, and to be driving with this kind of performance.
"The team did a fantastic job with the strategy and then it was just for me to keep it together, stay off the kerbs, and bring it home."
The Mercedes driver had attempted to set the fastest lap of the race, but was pipped by McLaren driver Carlos Sainz who had pitted for fresh tyres in the closing stages.
Hamilton continued: "I tried to get the fastest lap but of course, on 40-lap old mediums, I wasn't going to get it to someone who was on new, fresh tyres."
Clearly enjoying the new fast-paced Formula 1 of 2020, he added: "I love this. I love back-to-backs. Can't we just go back-to-back all year long?"
Hamilton now sits second in the standings to team-mate Bottas, the Finn having scored a first and second across the opening two weekends of the season.
