Experience will aid second F1 campaign says Norris

Lando Norris out to make a strong start to 2020

Lando Norris believes that his McLaren team are ready for the Formula 1 season opener after a long winter of preparation.

McLaren finished best of the rest in 2019, behind only Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull, and Norris is brimming with confidence heading into his second season in the sport.

“We’ve done a lot of preparation over the winter and in pre-season testing, so we’re ready to get back to racing," said Norris.

“I feel much more confident coming into this season than I did last year, and I’m really excited to get back in the car.”

Norris qualified in eighth on debut last season, dropping down to twelfth in the race. This season though, the Briton arrives at Albert Park with experience to help bolster his chances.

Norris added, “I can’t wait to go racing again in Australia, this time with the benefit of a year’s experience behind me. My rookie season got off to a good start there in 2019, but as always I’m looking to improve wherever I can.

“I can’t wait to get the 2020 season started – it’s looking like it will be a challenging but exciting one.”

Norris will be looking to get his season off to a good start in Melbourne and bridge the points gap from last season to teammate Carlos Sainz Jr.
