VIDEO: Verstappen accuses Hamilton of disrespect after quali scare

Max Verstappen suggested Lewis Hamilton was guilty of lacking respect for his fellow drivers in an incident which almost saw the pair crash in qualifying for the United States GP.

Hamilton surged past Verstappen and Daniil Kvyat as drivers looked to make room at the end of Q2.

Verstappen was forced off the track, while Kvyat also ran wide and was unable to make it into the top-10 shootout.

A tense atmosphere has fallen on Hamilton and Verstappen's views on each other after the Mercedes man accused his rival of "torpedoing" him at the start of the Mexican GP.

Verstappen claimed that showed he was in Hamilton's head and the Dutchman had another message for Hamilton after their near-miss at COTA.

Max explained the incident: "So, we were all lining up to do our lap, or to get to the last corner, and I think it was Seb, the first Ferrari, then Charles and then I had Dany in front of me and we were all just slowing down to make space, and Lewis just drove by like nobody was there and didn't care.

"So I was like, 'Well, if you don't care, I don't care'.

"I want to get my position back. I mean, everybody's just respecting each other at that point, just to start the lap. That's why it was such a close call."
