Verstappen summoned to stewards after Hungary qualifying

Max Verstappen was summoned to the stewards after qualifying at the Hungarian Grand Prix, potentially making a bad day for Red Bull even worse. Verstappen qualified seventh at the Hungaroring, but is at risk of picking up a grid penalty after blocking the Haas of Romain Grosjean in Q3.

Grosjean fumed over team radio after being cut up by Verstappen, saying: "F**k. F**k. F**k. The Red Bull f***ed me!"

The FIA saw fit to summon the Dutchman to the stewards for "unnecessarily blocking" the Haas.

Verstappen is usually quick in the wet but he struggled to seventh - a position which could become worse.

Sebastian Vettel received a three-place grid drop in Austria for a similar block on Carlos Sainz.

Red Bull struggled badly in the rain, with Daniel Ricciardo only qualifying 12th fastest after leaving his run in Q2 too late before rain arrived to effectively neutralise the session.

Ricciardo had almost slipped out in Q1 when he was sent out on a drying track on soft tyres, with all other drivers lowering their lap times on ultrasofts.
