Hamilton makes Rich List history as Norris joins Young guns

Lewis Hamilton has made history as the richest competing sportsman on the Sunday Times Rich List with a net worth that has topped £300million.

Whilst there is no place in the top 250 on the overall list for Hamilton, the seven-time F1 champion has experienced an estimated growth of £40m.

In contrast, Forbes has estimated Mercedes driver Hamilton's net worth to have grown by £60m.

The increase means Hamilton, who arrived at the Miami Grand Prix FIA press conference wearing swathes of jewellery and three watches in apparent defiance of the governing body's accessory clampdown, extends his Rich List record.

The Briton's known personal sponsorships include Monster Energy, Bose, Sony and Tommy Hilfiger.

Norris enters Young Rich List

Lando Norris has taken his place on the Young Rich List for the first time.

The McLaren driver signed a new contract with the team ahead of the beginning of the season and has also moved to Monaco, with his net worth now placing him on the top 100.

The 22-year-old's net worth of £10million puts him level with US Open tennis winner Emma Raducanu and Ivor Novello award-winning singer-songwriter Sam Fender in 85th.

The Young Rich List is largely dominated by footballers and musicians.
