Mercedes Spanish Grand Prix winning streak - will it finally end?

Team has won last five races in Barcelona

If ever a race and a circuit have belonged to a team then it is the Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya and Mercedes.

The reigning F1 constructors' champions have dominated the event since the start of the turbo-hybrid era in 2014, winning seven of the last eight races at the venue.

Without doubt, it would have been all eight but for the infamous crash between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg on the opening lap in 2016.

On this occasion, however, Mercedes can only claim to be the third-best team as it goes into the race trailing behind Ferrari and Red Bull.

But will its latest updates, on the back of those introduced at the last race in Miami, propel it back into contention with the two leading protagonists?
