Red Bull "demonstrated" reliability woes solved
Christian Horner believes Red Bull has "demonstrated" the team's reliability woes are in the past after a strong recent showing at Imola.
The Milton Keynes-based team travels to Miami for the inaugural race at the Florida venue off the back of a near-flawless Emilia Romagna Grand Prix weekend in which Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez reaped 57 points of the 58 available.
It was a welcome tonic for the team after losing Verstappen from second place in Australia through a reliability issue whilst both drivers lost podiums in the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix.
On whether he was confident the team had overcome its troubles, Horner replied: "We have understood those issues.
"The issue we had in Australia was different to the one we had in Bahrain.
"You can never say never but obviously it [the weekend in Imola] demonstrated that we have managed to get on top of the issue from Australia."
Horner ready for Miami hype
The Miami Gardens venue will be driven in anger for the first time this weekend as F1 welcomes another street-style circuit to its bustling calendar.
The event is the first of two United States-based races this season and is aiming to capitalise on the supporter boom experienced in the country in the past few seasons.
“Miami is going to be super-cool," insisted Horner. "There’s a real hype about Miami. I’ve never known a race to have such high demand.
"We are totally, totally, oversubscribed. There’s a waiting list of hundreds of thousands of people trying to buy tickets that can’t get in.
“It’s an interesting track. It’s a simple layout but they tend to sometimes be the trickier ones.
“It’s got a huge straight so I think the racing will be good there and it will be great to see the cars in Miami.”
