Max Verstappen has revealed he is "curious" to get to grips with the RB18 after Red Bull revealed its 2022 F1 entry last week.

Max Verstappen claimed his maiden drivers' world title in the final year of the previous generation of cars but the coming season is a complete reset for teams.

The all-new technical regulations mean there has been minimal carryover from 2021 with some teams describing the rule changes as a "blank sheet of paper".

With ground effect technology now being used to generate downforce rather than numerous winglets on the bodywork, the cars will feel significantly different to drive and Verstappen is eager to get his first taste.

Asked ahead of the Red Bull launch how he was feeling ahead of the new season, Verstappen said: "Well, a lot is unknown about the car.

"Personally, I feel good. What is important is you prepare yourself in the best way possible physically.

"But in terms of the car you don't know, so that's why I'm curious to see how the car behaves on track."

Pre-season testing will begin in Spain at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on February 23.
