Spa Francorchamps is undergoing a major facelift during the winter months as the F1 Belgian Grand Prix venue prepares to welcome back motorbikes.
The safety requirements for hosting top-level car and bike racing have many similarities but, with riders separated from their motorcycles in the event of a crash, are far from identical.
In the case of Spa Francorchamps, extensive work has been completed to marry the two ideals with run-off areas extended as well as the installation of several gravel traps.
After a number of heavy crashes in recent years, Eau Rouge and Raidillon have also seen work carried out with the run-offs extended and a new "covered grandstand" erected with space for 4,600 people and VIP boxes.
As the work continues, Spa Francorchamps has released a series of images to provide an update on the progress being made. GPFans has collated these into the gallery below.
