Mazepin payback on Steiner for 'Maze-Spin' gift

Mazepin's social media post proves Haas boss' claim he is not just "miserable"

Nikita Mazepin has got his own back on Guenther Steiner after receiving his 'Maze-spin' gift from the Haas team principal.

The Russian driver was handed a personalised spinning top at the Red Bull Ring last weekend, aiming fun at the pun associated with the rookie following his inauspicious start to life in F1.

Following the release of the video on social media, Steiner pointed out Mazepin is not just "miserable", a claim backed up by his driver with his own social media gag ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix.

In a scene from the Netflix series 'Drive to Survive' from 2019, when Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean were driving for the team, Steiner was alerted to the Danish driver smashing his door in frustration after a four-letter rant at his drivers.

As he tried to track Magnussen down to confront him over the incident, Steiner can be heard yelling "he does not f**ksmash my door".

With the incident becoming a cult hit on the internet, a new door was the clear winner as Mazepin asked his social media followers what he should give Steiner in return, and with some appropriate lettering to boot.
