Hamilton: This isn't like me - I'm human

Lewis Hamilton has claimed that his crash in the early stages of Brazilian GP qualifying was 'unusual' for him and that it proves 'he is human'.

The world champion spun out at turn seven of his opening lap of qualifying, hitting the barrier at speed, and although he escaped injury he will begin tomorrow's race at Interlagos from the back of the grid.

“I'm going to take whatever bubble of negativity that comes from this and learn from it. It was very unusual of me but it shows we are all human and things happen,“ The Englishman told Sky Sports shortly after the incident.

“It happened very fast. It's unfortunate.”

Hamilton however remained confident of securing a good position from the back of the field and added that he will go out and enjoy the occasion.

“Challenges make life interesting, “ the 32-year old added.

“Tomorrow I'll try and have as much fun as possible. I've came from behind before and had a great race, so, hope so.”

With Hamilton so far back in the grid tomorrow, the door has opened for his Mercedes team-mate, Valtteri Bottas, who claimed pole position ahead of Ferrari duo Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen.
