Armstrong dedicates F3 win to Hubert after Laaksonen scare
Respectful scenes post-race in Spa.
Marcus Armstrong dedicated his victory in Formula 3's second race at the Belgian Grand Prix to Anthoine Hubert following the Frenchman's death.
The Ferrari academy driver led from pole in a race that was significantly punctuated by a long safety-car period triggered when Simo Laaksonen hit the tyre barrier at Blanchimont.
Laaksonen's car became worryingly wedged under the barrier and concerns were obvious following on from Hubert's fatal crash the day prior, with a minute's silence held pre-race to honour the Frenchman.

Laaksonen was extracted from the car and taken to the medical centre, but seemed to have avoided the worst of it, while the halo device on the MP Motorsports machine remained intact.

After his Lap 4 crash, the Finnish driver was taken back to the medical centre to undergo the usual checks
He has since been released and is okay.
When racing resumed, Armstrong was able to hold a comfortable gap to those behind him, with Yuki Tsunoda getting the better of Christian Lundgaard to secure his maiden F3 podium in second place.
Celebrations on the podium were muted, with no champagne sprayed, while Armstrong radioed his team with a message for Hubert.
