Steiner not depressed by Haas challenges
A terrible race for the team in France.
Haas boss Guenther Steiner says the current state of the team following the French Grand Prix, which he called the “worst ever” in the team’s history is not leaving him depressed, but admits the team must step up their efforts to try and reclaim some kind of form.
Following the race at the Paul Ricard, a passionate Steiner said Haas have never suffered a worse performance than result than in France, and he was left in the dark as to the reason for the drastic downturn in form.
However, he has defiantly suggested that the situation is a challenge to be embraced, and has requested that everyone in the team work tirelessly to stop the rot.
“It’s not depressing," Steiner insisted.
"I’m realistic. I’m not getting depressed. I’m getting… angry is the wrong word. For me, it’s a challenge, but it’s not a positive challenge. We need to get out of this. If we get depressed you give up. We never give up. In racing, the day you give up you stay where you are. You need to get the anger out and just keep on working.

“That’s what I told the guys. I said, ‘Guys, you need to work a lot more now than you did before. There’s no point waiting for something to come, you need to go back now and understand why we are where we are. That’s the only thing you can do.
Steiner says it is important that the problems with the car are identified as soon as possible, so that solutions can be found.
“Once you know why you are where you are, then you can find solutions,” he added.
“If you don’t know that one, how can you work on solutions? Then you work on everything and then you make a new car.”
