Kvyat: I'll buy Ricciardo a new mirror
It would have helped stop their clash...
Daniil Kvyat has claimed he will buy Daniel Ricciardo a “new mirror” for the Spanish Grand Prix after an incident in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix which saw the Australian reversed blindly into his Toro Rosso after the pair both went off the track at the same time.
With the GP entering its latter stages, Ricciardo attempted to get beyond Kvyat into 10th, only to slide off-track, with the Russian following.

The Renault man attempted to quickly return to the Baku track, but did so hastily, as he failed to spot the stationary car of Kvyat, resulting in a collision which ultimately led to both drivers retiring.
Kvyat has responded to the incident by jokingly saying he will buy his former team-mate a new rear mirror.
“I respect Daniel a lot, we have been team-mates so I have no problems with him,” he said after the race.
“He just needs to be more patient. Just a few hundred meters later he had a two kilometer straight to try and overtake.

“That corner is very tight and he didn’t make it, so I had to go with him since he didn’t make it.
“I’ll buy him a rear-view mirror for the next race.”
The Russian driver started the GP well and found himself within the points, but as his tyres became worn he dropped down the positions, with the clash with Ricciardo proving the final nail in the coffin.
“We had a big drop in the rear tyres. We need to investigate what happened there because it was quite aggressive and severe,” he suggested.
“It caught us by surprise and we pitted, but still we were looking at a decent race and then that happened.”
