Ericsson fit to drive after massive Monza crash
Marcus Ericsson will be fit to take part in qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix, having avoided injury in his massive crash in Friday's second practice session. Sauber had to break curfew in order to fix Ericsson's car after it was sent barrel-rolling through the first chicane at Monza following a smash into the barriers.
Replays showed that a failure on Ericsson's DRS meant it did not shut as he braked into the first turn early in FP2, the lack of downforce whipping Ericsson into the wall.

After spinning down the grass and coming to a rest, Ericsson was able to walk away and was soon cleared at the FIA medical centre.
The Swede hailed his car's ability to absorb the impact after emerging unscathed from one of 2018's scariest crashes.
"The accident I had in FP2 was a big impact – thanks to the strength of the car I am alright," Ericsson said in a team release. "I look forward to driving again."
The DRS issue also affected the sister Sauber of Charles Leclerc, although the Monegasque was fortunate not to suffer the same fate as his team-mate.
"It was quite tricky obviously because we would arrive at the end of the straight and we didn't really know if it would close or not," said Leclerc.
"I had the same issue but I was a bit luckier with it, it closed a bit earlier than Marcus.
"We found the issue, we resolved it but that required a bit of sacrifice in performance.
"We know what to do for to not have this problem and for there to be full performance. So there's still a bit of potential.
"I think the main thing today is Marcus is fine and looking at the crash it was not a given."
