Lewis Hamilton's F1 title hopes suffered another blow in Zandvoort on Saturday as the seven-time world champion endured more frustration in the Dutch Grand Prix Sprint race.

The 41-year-old British star was at a loss to explain his P7 performance in Sprint Qualifying on Friday, and 24 hours later it was a similar story.

Hamilton was unable to improve on his starting position, coming home in P7 after a 24-lap race won by a resurgent George Russell of Mercedes. The result means Russell is now just three points behind second-placed Hamilton in the Driver's standings.

Hamilton crucially also loses ground on championship leader Kimi Antonelli, who was able to improve from P5 on the grid to a P4 finish to claim five points in his title bid.
