Venting frustration will get Ferrari nowhere - Vettel
Vettel and Charles Leclerc finished 13th and 14th in Belgium
Sebastian Vettel has demanded a calm approach from all within Ferrari following the Scuderia's worst result for 10 years.
Vettel and Charles Leclerc limped home 13th and 14th at the Belgian Grand Prix. Not since the 2010 British Grand Prix has Ferrari endured a worse performance with both cars taking the chequered flag.
To add further embarrassment for the team, both drivers finished behind one of its engine customer cars as Kimi Raikkonen was 12th in his Alfa Romeo.
After conceding to trying "a lot of stuff, driving wise" during the race, Vettel added: "The underlying problem is that we were just not quick enough.
"At that stage, it is difficult. You cannot pull out miracles. You can work on a couple of tenths but it was difficult to have a decent pace this weekend and as I said there are lots of things we learn.
"We need to make sure we stay calm and we don't get frustrated because frustration is not usually leading you anywhere."
Delving deeper into the issues, Vettel added: "There is probably something that is not exactly clear. I believe that it might be - I hope that it might be - a bit more Spa specific.
"We have to work hard. There are a lot of lessons this weekend and we have to make sure we stay strong, stay together and we do the best we can."
Team-mate Charles Leclerc enjoyed a superb start to the race which saw the Monegasque fighting in the top 10, but the Ferrari's lack of pace, added to two lengthy pit-stops, wrote Leclerc out of contention.
Also speaking to Sky Sports F1, Leclerc said the issues were "extremely frustrating".
"It has been a difficult weekend for us and the race was not any easier. We had issues with the two pit stops I have made which made me lose quite a lot of lap time and positions.
"I tried to catch back but it is very difficult for us to overtake with the DRS. We need to work and find something because it is very difficult."
