Renault tease Fernando Alonso arrival
Renault are expected to announce the signing of Fernando Alonso for the 2021 Formula 1 season imminently.
Rumours have been wild over a potential F1 return for Alonso ever since he decided to sit out the 2019 season.
McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull, Racing Point and Mercedes have all been linked with the Spaniard. The move of Daniel Ricciardo to McLaren for 2021 opened the door to a reunion with the team he won both the 2005 and 2006 titles with, and Renault has now all but confirmed the famous reunion.

The team has posted two iconic pieces of audio on social media. One of the Spaniard yelling in delight after winning his first world title, and the second of the howling V10 engine that powered Renault to championship glory in both years.

Alonso previously left Renault for McLaren in 2007, before returning for a less successful two-year stint between 2008-2009.
Upon his return, Alonso will be 39-years of age, with only Kimi Raikkonen, should the Finn continue to compete, older than him on the grid.
