Ricciardo chalks up over a century of laps on F1 return
Daniel Ricciardo returned to Formula 1 action by clocking over 100 laps of Austria's Red Bull Ring on Tuesday.
After Mercedes' enjoyed a two-day test run at Silverstone last week to ensure the drivers at least spent some time behind the wheel of an F1 car again and the race team acclimatised to protocols in place due to Covid-19, this week it is the turn of Renault to experience the 'new normal'.
On track, Ricciardo chalked up an impressive 115 laps in the two-year-old RS18, the car used as required by the FIA's sporting regulations when it comes to conducting an out-of-season test.
That equates to just under 500 kilometres of the 4.318km Spielberg track, that is to be used for the first two races of the new season when racing resumes in early July.
He's back.

The Red Bull Ring is to host the Austrian Grand Prix on July 5 and the Steiermark GP on July 12.
As a re-introduction to F1 following three-and-a-half months of inactivity since pre-season testing, Ricciardo could not have asked for a better day of running.
New team-mate Esteban Ocon will take over the RS18 on Wednesday.
