Autosport does U-turn on magazine price hike

Autosport has announced that its magazine will revert to its previous price of £3.99 per issue after a huge increase was met with almost universal outcry.

Autosport's parent company, Motorsport Network, recently pushed up the weekly price of the magazine to £10.99.

Readers and motorsport fans reacted with anger, accusing Motorsport Network of trying to shut down a publication that has been on sale since 1950.

While Motorsport Network will continue to seek an expansion of online titles, Autosport readers will not be so light in the pocket once again.

McLaren CEO Zak Brown stepped down from his role with Motorsport Network (MSN) as scrutiny increased on the media giant's activities in the aftermath of the Autosport price hike.

He said at the time: "After careful consideration I have made the decision to resign from the role of non-executive chairman of Motorsport Network. I have had the privilege of watching some of the best people in the business doing what they do so well - bringing this great sport to the fans."
