Vettel, Raikkonen honour Marchionne in Budapest with black armbands

Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen joined the Ferrari team in honouring Sergio Marchionne at the Hungarian Grand Prix by arriving in Budapest and working on Thursday wearing black armbands. Both drivers and team principal Maurizio Arrivabene were excused from media duties as a sign of respect.

Marchionne passed away on Wednesday at the age of 66, having suffered complications from shoulder surgery which had left him in a coma according to reports. It was also claimed that Marchionne had been suffering with cancer.

Raikkonen had been due to speak at Thursday's drivers' press conference, while Arrivabene was slated to appear in Friday's session for team chiefs, but both were stood down by the FIA.

An FIA statement read: "In the event that either of the team's drivers are present in the top three on Saturday or Sunday, they will be expected to fulfil their press conference duties as normal."

Ferrari flags were flown at half-mast at the Scuderia motorhome as a mark of respect to Marchionne, who had only officially given up the reins of Fiat-Chrysler and the Scuderia on Friday, when his condition worsened.
