F1 2022 key dates - testing, all the races
All the details are here!
The 2022 F1 season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix is just around the corner with all 10 cars launched and pre-season testing coming to a close.
The year ahead boasts new cars governed by fresh aerodynamic regulations and a record-breaking 23-race calendar crammed into 36 weeks.
Here GPFans brings you all the key dates for the weeks and months ahead which will be updated as and when any changes are made.
The Russian Grand Prix
The Russian Grand Prix was dropped from the 2022 calendar after F1 deemed it "impossible" to race in the country given its invasion of neighbouring Ukraine.
The event had been set to take place on September 25 but the slot now sits vacant.
It is understood F1 is keen to replace the Sochi race with another grand prix and maintain its 23-race schedule.
The race calendar
The opening race is on March 20 in Bahrain and concludes just eight months later on November 20 with the traditional curtain-closer of Abu Dhabi.
The reason for the earlier finish this year is due to the fact F1 did not want its events spilling over into the start of the World Cup in Qatar that commences on November 21.
There will be three sprint events after an agreement was reached to reduce the number from six.
March 20 - Bahrain [Sakhir International Circuit]
March 27 - Saudi Arabia [Jeddah Corniche Circuit]
April 10 - Australian [Albert Park, Melbourne]
April 24 - Emilia Romagna [Imola, Italy] - Sprint

July 31 - Hungarian [Hungaroring, Budapest]

September 11 - Italian [Monza]
September 25 - TBC - Formerly the Russian GP

October 9 - Japanese [Suzuka]
October 23 - United States [Circuit of the Americas, Austin]

Pre-season testing
F1 completed six days of testing ahead of the 2022 season with the opening three days run in Spain at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya before the sport headed to Bahrain to conclude the running.
Porpoising was a major issue for the teams to get to grips with given the reintroduction of ground-effect technology this year with some achieving more success than others.
Feb 23-25 - Pre-season track session [Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona]
Mar 10-12 - Pre-season test [Sakhir International Circuit, Bahrain]
