Michael Schumacher documentary 'very emotional for a lot of people'
Mick Schumacher has described the upcoming Netflix documentary of his father's career as "very emotional" and something fans must 'experience for themselves'.
Since suffering a severe head injury in late 2013, little has been revealed as to the condition of seven-time champion Michael Schumacher.
This weekend's Belgian Grand Prix marks the 30th anniversary of the German's F1 debut with Jordan and after Netflix released a trailer for its documentary on Wednesday, son Mick described his feelings in taking part in the project.
“I think that it is going to be a very emotional documentary for many people," said the Haas driver.
"Obviously, it has brought a lot of people into the sport but also I think a lot of people when they were growing up, they watched my dad.
“For me, it has been very emotional to see it but I think the best thing I can say is really for everybody to have a look at it and watch it and experience it for themselves.”
Spa 'special' for Schumacher
Schumacher will race this weekend at Spa Francorchamps for the first time in an F1 car.
The circuit became synonymous with Michael during his career, with the German not only making his debut at the venue but also scoring his first grand prix victory at the circuit one year later.
Asked if Spa was a special circuit for him, he answered: “It is yeah.
"Not just because of the history of my dad but also I’ve had a few good races here. I had my first pole position, my first race win in 2018 here with F3 which then became a streak of multiple race wins.
“So definitely, yeah, it’s a track that I enjoy a lot and I enjoy a lot coming back here.”
